Your character HUD can be toggled on and off by typing /hud in game. This hud shows a few different things all CRUCIAL to your game play.
It covers you Health, Armor, Ammo count, Character Level, Class, Hunger and Thirst. Chances of you dying "for no reason" is because you forgot to eat or drink!
There is now a second hud in the Project Insomnia server. You can do /hud for the old version, or you can use the new and improved character hud.
The car HUD shows as soon as you hop in a car. This can not be toggled. It shows your gas guage, seatbelt (to toggle it on and off press B) and your Speedometer.
